Thursday 15th February 2018
The start of 2018 has brought us some amazing opportunities so far, including performing with the UK's number one Swing Band, The Jive Aces! We've both performed individually with the band before, so it's been exciting creating new arrangements and harmonies as a duo.
Our first gig with The Jives just happened to be in Dublin! Holly had never been before so this was such a fun trip! Before flying we met up with the Jives for a rehearsal in their hometown of East Grinstead, working on songs such as 'I Want You To Be My Baby' and 'Too Darn Hot'.
We flew to Dublin with the Saxy Lottie Low, and had lots of girlie fun with her in our hotel room! Pin curling into the early hours of the morning, experimenting with headscarves (we should have got a picture!) and chatting all things vintage.
The gig was in aid of a wonderful charity called TenFoundations.org who raise money and build homes for vulnerable children. They were set up in 2012 and since then have impacted the lives of dozens of women, families and children in the Philippines. Read more about this charity at: www.tenfoundations.org
We are currently waiting to receive pictures and videos of this gig but will be sure to update you when they arrive!
After Dublin we had a day at home to relax and enjoy Valentines day, but not for long! Twenty four hours later and we are back on the road with The Jives, re-visiting Portsmouth. We performed in the lovely harbour town late January for the wonderful passers by, and was thrilled to go back again today. After gigging this afternoon we drove to Birmingham where we are currently enjoying a lovely dinner and planning on an early night in preparation for the rest of our fun week!
Tomorrow we are performing in Birmingham city centre, and will then be heading to London for a Gala dinner to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust. Worthing is the final stop before our journey home!
We can't wait to update you on the rest of our trip.
Lots of love,
Holly & Victoria
